Week 8.

Today we developed the product further by looking into spacial awarness. We discussed existing technologies. Starting with sensory technologies in parking lots which identify if a parking space is taken or not due to motion senses. We ran with this idea and adapted it to a context for public transport. We looked at the idea being suitable for a train setting to show where seating was available, After presenting this idea to tutors we then changed the idea to suite seating at a restaurant.

We started to explore potential areas of news around restraunts and cafes, which included seating avilablity and general service. From there we chose to look at the relationship between staff and customers.

Lecture:
Symmantic approach and action centric approach to tangible interaction
designing for movement from tangible interaction, three rules:

1. treat video as a design material (analyse and discuss movement, qualatative ananasys)

2. design with movements directly (gestures of hands in a collaboratative choreograph feedback gained)

3. use thinkering to get to grips with form (use materials that can be tinkered to design aphysical form which encourages/supports particular movements.
